Féminité magazine is a feminist style and safety issue. Dedicated to providing our readers with information on gender-based violence, self-defence, and the evolution of feminist style. The prompt for this assignment was to create one magazine issue under any topic of your choosing, designing each spread with the different styles of typographic, illustrative, and photographic.

Typographic Spread
This spread focuses on using typographic elements to complement and emphasize the spread's article, “Facts about Gender-based Violence” by the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Using mainly Black handwritten and regular text to create an effectively impactful spread.
Illustrative Spread
This spread focuses on the use of illustration to help represent the article, “Self-defence for Women, be prepared and empowered” by Alive Publishing Group. Utilizing simple illustrations to depict ethnically diverse women narrating across the spread. As well as minimalistic representations of self-defence moves.
Photographic Spread
This spread focuses on mainly photographic elements. Using this form of design to complement the spreads article, “The Evolution of Feminist style” by CR Fashion Book. Using strictly black and white images to create a spread moving through time, utilizing colour to emphasize important text.

Bitch Magazine is a feminist magazine, providing critiques of pop culture, TV, films, and advertisements. Ms.Magazine is also a feminist magazine, that evaluates global feminist issues, events, and reviews from notable women. While catering to a similar demographic, Féminité magazine uniquely educates viewers on gender-based violence, feminist history, and
self-defence.
Demographic
Féminité magazine caters to a specific demographic of women between 16 and 35 years of age. Our readers strive to educate themselves on current and past feminist-related topics, as well as maintain a safe and diligent lifestyle.
Content Strategy
The Typographic article, Facts About Gender-Based Violence, was included in the magazine to keep our readers informed on the current struggle of women across Canada. As relationships become a prominent factor in one's life, being educated on the dangers of relationships is a key stepping stool to creating a safe life.
The Illustrative article, Self-Defence for Women, was featured in the magazine to underline the importance of self-defence as a safety mechanism that can be used to possibly save one's life.
The Photographic article, The Evolution of Feminist Style, was also featured in Féminité magazine. While the female style is widely sexualized and subjected to negative orientation. This article is utilized as a resource for female empowerment. Advocating for the equal treatment of women throughout all time and style.
