The Problem
York University's Centre for Research in Earth Space and Science (CRESS), was missing the promotional material needed to promote the program at confrences and events, in order to attract future alumni and program traction.
Our Job
Through out the Fall Term the Design Lab Team conducted bi-weekly client meetings, giving each team member a chance to present our process work on the deliverable, conducting generative conversations with the client for feedback. As well as the emailing back and forth for the collection of image content, as well as the distribution of oour presentation documennts so the client has something to refer back to during the weeek.
BANNERS
Designer - Chloe Valitutti
My role within the Design Lab Team was to design and produce Banners for use at conferences and events. The first banner (left image) was intended to have a technological/engineering focus. The second banner set (right image) was intended to have a space and planet theme.
In terms of layout, extra space was deliberately left on the bottom half of the banners in order to make room for a booth table for use at conferences. The majority of the content is at eye level in order to improve readability, with some accented blue words that highlight important factors on the banners.
INFORMATION CARDS
Designer - Mohammad Moghaddasi
Create promotional information cards to hand out at conferences and events, utilizing space images, descriptive body copy, and contact information provided by the CRESS department. The goal of these cards is to promote the department in hopes to attract new students and candidates into learning more about the Centre for Research in Earth Space and Science.
STICKERS
Designer - Genesis Bautista
Create promotional stickers to hand out at conferences and events, utilizing space images provided by the CRESS department. These designs are inspired by the style of commemorative space patches.

Design Lab
Within my fourth year of university, I took part in the Design Lab which was a class made up of 4 designers dedicated to designing work for the York University community. Working as a team, my fellow designers and I were commissioned to conduct client meetings, presentations, and emails, as well as redesign the design lab brand.
