Chef's Pick Cookbook
Chef's Pick is a cookbook for picky eaters. Created in Book Design class, throughout the second semester of my Fourth year at York University. The prompt for this assignment was to create a full book based on any genre and topic we'd like. My chosen genre was Cookbooks and my topic was dinner meals for meat eaters and non-meat eaters. Splitting the book up into two chapters; Chapter 1 for Herbivours, and Chapter 2 for Omnivores.

Why Chef's Pick?
Chef's Pick is a cook book for picky eaters. As a picky eater myself, I find cooking in general fairly difficult when it comes to cooking meals I know I will like. This book acts as a guide for all picky eaters who aspire to make their own meals, but don’t know how to cater to their unique tastebuds. My goal for this book was to create a guide filled with recipes that offer alternative options to meals, depending on the individuals preferences. This book caters to dinner, the big ‘main meal’ of the day, a meal that it harder to customize for individuals without cooking experience.

Book Contents
This cookbook consists of a total of 50 pages, split up into two chapters. The contents of this book include a four-column grid, a full cover page, a half-title page, full title page, table of contents, a forward, two chapter spreads, and a colophon.
Book Design
The overall theme of this book follows a colourful, photographic, and typographic design style. Each spread has a large amount of negative space, allowing users to make notes and personalize their book. Each chapter divider includes a full image spread to break up the book visually.

PROCESS WORK
Book Contents
The contents of this book include a variety of hand-picked vegetarian and non-vegetarian online recipes. The design of this book was inspired by a couple of non-traditional cookbook styles, utilizing photography as the main source of visual design.
Design Process
My design process started with the collection of images and recipes online. I then started researching general inspiration to generate ideas for the layout of each recipe's spread.
